The Government of Saskatchewan intends to maintain all reasonable steps to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the personal information you submit. The Government of Saskatchewan wishes to collect only your personal information that is necessary for the purposes that have been identified. Your personal information will only be used for the purposes for which it is collected, unless you otherwise consent in writing. The Government of Saskatchewan shall retain your personal information for only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.

The Government of Saskatchewan uses

• Transport Layer Security 1.2 and decoding techniques to decrease the risk of information passed over phone lines or cables from being intercepted, and

• access controls, including but not limited to firewalls, to protect the Government of Saskatchewan system from unauthorized external access via Internet and the Government of Saskatchewan's internal computer systems.

To check your Internet browser encryption level:

• If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer:

  • Select About Internet Explorer from the Help menu. The encryption level is stated as 'Cipher Strength.'

  • If you are currently using an Internet browser version that supports 40-bit encryption, you will need to upgrade it. You may download a 128-bit Internet browser from www.microsoft.com. Verify that you are in an encrypted secure session by checking to see if the status bar displays either a padlock or security key and that the address field displays the 'S' in 'HTTPS'

• If you are using Safari:

  • The Safari browser displays a lock icon at the top right corner of the browser window when you're viewing a secure (https://) site. This symbol is absent when viewing an unsecured (http://) site. Safari can use both 40-bit and 128-bit strong encryption; the Web site determines which level of encryption is used at a given time.

The Government of Saskatchewan web site deletes any information from its memory (cache) when you sign out. However, under certain conditions, information may be recalled or viewed from your computer if the memory (cache) is not cleared. Therefore, the Government of Saskatchewan strongly recommends that the cache of the computer used to perform the transaction be cleared.

To clear the Internet browser cache on Microsoft Internet Explorer:

1. Click on the Tools menu
2. Select Internet Options
3. Click Delete Files
4. Confirm by clicking OK

To clear the Internet browser cache on Safari:

1. Click on the Safari menu
2. Select Reset Safari
3. Ensure the following items are checked off:
   • Empty cache
   • Remove all cookies
   • Remove saved names and passwords
   • Remove other Autofill form text
4. Click Reset
5. Exit and re-launch the browser

The Government of Saskatchewan websites may create a small file on your computer, called a 'cookie'. Cookies allow the Government of Saskatchewan to provide you with personalized information on your future visits. The Government of Saskatchewan does not intend to use such files for any other purpose or to include any personal financial information in cookie files.
